TEMEKULA, California. Starfire Direct, a direct-to-consumer outdoor furniture and outdoor furniture company, was acquired by private equity firm Blackford Capital operating in the low to mid-market.
Starfire joins Blackford Patio Consolidation’s portfolio, conceived as a lightweight, multi-product, multi-channel platform offering outdoor home products. The acquisition is the first part of a multi-stage plan to bring together various players in the space and create a business that “will achieve high growth through significant synergies and create a competitive advantage over time.”
“Jonathan Burlingham and his team have done an excellent job of growing the Starfire family of brands since its inception in 2007,” said Blackford founder and managing director Martin Stein. “With an industry-leading product and a growing customer base, the platform is well positioned for organic and inorganic growth through product development, search and marketing enhancements, and synergistic acquisitions that we are already actively pursuing.
“As the remote workforce continues to exceed pre-pandemic levels, we see the outdoor home segment continue to expand as consumers focus on creating and improving comfortable and inviting backyard and home environments,” Stein continued.
Starfire Direct’s management team, led by founder and CEO Jonathan Burlingham and COO Wes Churchel, will remain on the platform following the acquisition.
