Home garden furniture lights up randomly, mom’s house is on fire

Kirsty Ghosn smelled smoke in her upstairs bedroom before going downstairs and discovering the flames in the garden.
Kirsty Ghosn, 27, from Stockbridge Village, on Tuesday, July 19, smelled a barbecue in the two-bedroom house upstairs. She went downstairs in dirty clothes and found her seven-month-old bulldog at her feet.
When she turned, she saw flames coming out of her window and a huge plume of smoke coming from where her new rattan garden sofa stood. Kirsty said she “panicked” and ran after her four-year-old son and dog from the house where she was screaming for help, according to the Daily Mirror.
The 27-year-old man said: “It was very strange that the dog stood at my feet without moving. I looked around and saw that the living room was full of smoke and I could see flames through the window.
“I panicked because I didn’t know where my phone was and my head fell off. I yelled at my son, kicked the dog out and shouted “help, help” in the street.
The back of Kirsty’s house and the fence were completely engulfed in flames, and firefighters worked at the scene for an hour. Kirsty bought a three-seat rattan sofa from Homebase just three months before the fire and said she spent around £400 on it.
She said: “The firefighters told me that they didn’t think the furniture could withstand the crazy heat and caught fire. They said they saw some of these incidents.
“The back window was blown out, the entire back of the sofa in my living room was gone, my curtains were broken and the ceiling was black.

Kirsty is now letting people know what happened to her and urging others to keep an eye on their outdoor furniture in the heat.
She said, “Many people buy rattan because it looks cute, but if it can’t stand the heat, it’s not worth it. It’s also very expensive, and if it sets your house on fire, I don’t think it’s worth it.” It.
“I complained to Homebase but they asked me if I wanted a new one and I said emphatically no and then they told me to leave a review on the product.
A spokesperson for Homebase said, “We are very sorry to learn of the damage to Ms. Gown’s home. We take product safety very seriously and are investigating what happened.”
